Highlights from Tanya and Tommy’s amazing day at Northbrook Park
Northbrook Park is without doubt one of my favourite local venues, and Tanya and Tommy’s day was filled with such emotion that made it such a pleasure to photograph. I enjoy looking back at their wedding so much that I’ve used their pictures for one of my sample albums that I show to all my couples before booking.
Storytelling in pictures is what great documentary wedding photography means to me. That means capturing fleeting little details like the one above between Tanya and her mum, and shots like the ones below, that help fill in the little in-between moments of the day. Pictures that look great when printed in an album.
The moment a father walks his daughter down the aisle must be an occasion that both have dreamt of for many years. When the moment comes, who knows how they will react. All I know is that I need to be in the right place to capture that emotion.
I love to shoot through the moment. Not only do I want to capture the key moments in the day but I also want to capture how it felt to be there. The little incidental and unplanned things that happen on the day, come through experience, but it’s the little things that make your day unique.
