Bury Court Barn Wedding Photography
Bury Court Barn dates back over many centuries, showing up as possibly a small village on 17th century maps. It was a thriving hop farm until the 1980s and in the mid 1990s became the base for a marvellous plant nursery, Green Farm Plants, when the present owner, John Coke, inherited it. Check out my Bury Court Barn wedding photography below.
Bury Court Barn, A Breathtaking Barn Venue In The South East
Hidden away down a secluded country road outside of Farnham is the beautiful Bury Court Barn. Step inside and you’ll instantly be wowed by the size of the barn’s interior. Perhaps one of the largest of its kind in the county, the barn was fully restored and converted in 2002 and now serves as a venue for not only weddings, but dynamic corporate functions, concerts and even opera.
5 Reasons To Get Married At Bury Court Barn
If you’ve just begun the process of planning for your wedding then, first of all congratulations, but secondly, do please take a moment to read my five reasons to chose Bury Court Barn as your venue (and do of course take a peak at some of my favourite photos from this amazing barn wedding venue) It’s a wonderful place to photograph.
1 . A Perfect Wedding Venue All Year Round
There’s something really special about a wedding outside of the traditional summer wedding season. Whether you choose to draw on the colours of autumn, or the food and festivities around Christmas, Bury Court Barn looks great all year round and works equally well as a light and bright summer wedding venue or a cosy and warm winter venue.
As I’ll explain in more detail below, the Oast House at Bury Court means that you’re able to spend the whole day on site, untroubled by seasonal weather. Without the added stress of multiple venues and travel, you’re free to enjoy you day to the max, and party late into the night in the adaptable space of the barn that transitions perfectly from ceremony to wedding breakfast and then to evening party space.

2 . Everything You Need On Site
Tradition may dictate that you’d like to hold your ceremony at a place of particularly important religious worship, or with a strong family connection, but what makes a venue like Bury Court Barn so special is that quite apart for the picturesque beauty of the place, it’s really practical and works so well as a wedding venue, ticking all the boxes when it comes to taking care of you and your guests.
From simple things like have loads of parking, to the wonder full catering provided by Jacaranda Catering you will feel totally at home and looked after at Bury Court Barn. Having the Oast Cottage with its facilities to get ready on the wedding morning, as well as rooms off the main barn, and the delightful mezzanine level to the barn, there is ample space for relaxation on your big day.

3 . Beautiful Walled Garden For Your Portraits
One of the most important features of Bury Court is the beautiful walled garden created by the Dutch designer Piet Oudolf. As a show garden it specialises in grasses and hardy perennials and, at any time of the year, provides a perfect setting for your reception, the lush greens of spring changing into rich autumn colours in October.
Even out of season, the terraced area outside of the barn makes the perfect area for everyone to gather before the ceremony and after. The gardens can be enjoyed from afar or guests can take the time to explore in their own time, and from the far side of the garden the distinctive silhouette of the Oast Cottage makes for some iconic wedding portraits.

4 . The Personal Touch
At Bury Court Barn, couples have always been taken excellent care of during the planning process and the led up to the wedding. Recently under new ownership, expect this personal touch to continue with time taken to create a very special day for you and your guests to enjoy.
With wedding increasingly becoming an expression of you as a couple and your interests and personalities, at Bury Court Barn you even have the options of an outdoor ceremony in front of their rustic wedding gazebo, located alongside the Barn. It offers a tranquil setting for outdoor ceremonies, weather permitting. The gazebo is fully equipped for sound and the area offers plenty of space for your guests to be seated!

5 . A Family Friendly Venue
My documentary approach to Bury Court Barn wedding photography means that my attention is (almost) as focussed on your friends and family as it is on you the couple. That also means nieces and nephew, who can bring plenty of laughter and joy to a wedding day rarely escape my camera!
At Bury Court Barn there are lots of opportunities to entertain kids (under the supervision of their parents of course) from the inevitable game of hide and seek in the walled garden, to any manner of games that can be set up in rooms off of the main barn area. For any one young or old requiring an early night, then the Oast Cottage also provides the space to lay your head!

Un-posed Wedding Photography
I’m an award winning wedding photographer based in Guildford, with over ten years experience of shooting weddings. I shoot in a mostly documentary style, which means a little time for portraits and group photos, and lots of time for natural, candid storytelling “moment-driven” photos of you and your loved ones together.
Bury Court Barn Wedding Photography
Bury Court Barn is without doubt one of the most enjoyable wedding venues in my local area to photograph at. The natural light that filters into the barn, no matter the time of year, creates a warmth and flattering light on the faces of you and your nearest and dearest, and captures the mood of the wedding perfectly. If you’re getting married here then I’d love to hear from you!
Leading Documentary/Award Winning Wedding Photographer
Documentary photography, and my approach to shooting weddings in a journalistic style, is something that I feel passionately about. It’s about storytelling, it’s about stepping back at times to allow things to unfold in front of the camera, and about stepping in on occasions to capture the action!
