Emma & James at Farnham Castle

Today, I thought I’d jump back in time, to one of my favourite weddings of 2021. I’d met up with Emma and James in Richmond Park for their engagement shoot a few weeks before, and so it was so nice to meet up with them again when the big day finally came around. Although my style of wedding photography is all about capturing the moment, ably assisted on this occasion by my good friend and photographer Az, in a funny way I find doing an engagement shoot to be a really useful exercise in getting to know my couples. I also find that it helps them to relax and enjoy the wedding day, and feel less conscious of the camera.

Emma and James chose the magnificent Farnham Castle to tie the knot, and I thought they did a fantastic job of styling the Great Hall, and the Lantern Hall, where the ceremony was held. Suits, bridesmaids dresses, and flowers all contributed to making this a very elegant wedding to photograph. But weddings are of course about family and friends, and the love for this couple, and the fun had by all their guest, was clear to see, helped in no small part by the fantastic live band who kept the dance floor packed late into the evening!
