Great Fosters Wedding Photography
Great Fosters Wedding Photography
My first experience as a Great Fosters wedding photographer was photographing the wedding of a good friend that I’d studied photography with. We’ve both gone on to build successful careers in the business and Great Fosters has a lot of special memories. Shooting as a Great Fosters wedding photographer is without doubt one of the most enjoyable experiences. A first class wedding venue in the area, and always a joy to photograph.
Great Fosters, A Beautiful Wedding Venue In The English Countryside
Great Fosters has a grandeur to it that is almost unique among wedding venues in the area. The Tithe Barn, the Orangery and the gardens have real wow factor and provide plenty of options for the way you want to plan your wedding day. Large weddings or small, intimate nuptials can all be accommodated perfectly at Great Fosters.
8 Reasons To Get Married At Great Fosters
If you’ve just begun the process of planning for your wedding then, first of all congratulations, but secondly, do please take a moment to read my five reasons to chose Great Fosters as your venue (and do of course take a peak at some of my favourite photos from this amazingly grand wedding venue) Take it from me, an experienced Great Fosters Wedding Photographer, it’s a wonderful place to be! Check out one of my favourite weddings HERE.
1 . Stunning Landscape Gardens
The gardens at Great Fosters will take your breath away. There are a number of iconic locations around the grounds for portraits, including the wooden bridge, ornamental garden, and rose garden in full bloom. Whether you’re the type of couple that want lots of portraits or would just like a little time to yourselves on your wedding day Great Fosters is perfect.
You’re even able to have an outdoor ceremony on the lawn at Great Fosters, with views back to the house across the lake. I also know of couples that have got engaged in the grounds of Great Fosters, making their return there to get married, even more special.
2 . Space For Lots Of Wedding Guests
The beautiful Tithe Barn with it’s warm tones of wood and open fireplace is the perfect space to accommodate larger wedding, while the bar area and Orangery provide ample space for guests to spill out and enjoy catching up with old friends and enjoying the venue.
For smaller weddings you can use the Garden Room or hold your reception in the Orangery, and as you Great Fosters Wedding Photographer I’ll remain discreet. Whether you’re arriving from having married in church or a ceremony in the open air of Great Fosters gardens the rooms at this stunning country house venue will form the perfect backdrop to your special day.
3 . The Hotel Experience
Whether you’re staying with your bridesmaids the night before your wedding, or perhaps you’re having an intimate wedding with closest family and friends, and you want to make a weekend of it, Great Fosters has the rooms and activities to help you unwind and make the occasion very memorable indeed.
There’s even an outdoor pool, and spa treatments can be arranged in some of the rooms. Great Fosters is also well located, making other attractions, such as Windsor Castle and Hampton Court, within easy reach. And on your return, enjoy afternoon tea at Great Fosters, relax in one of the bars or enjoy an evening meal in the restaurant.
4 . Great Food!
Your friends and family are of course at your wedding to celebrate with you and congratulate you on such a special day. Getting the food and drink right, on your big day, could be seen as your opportunity, your way, of thanking everyone for coming. Good food brings people together and always brings a smile to the faces of young and old guests alike. But don’t fear as a Great Fosters Wedding Photographer I’ll also give you time to enjoy your food!
The executive chef and his talented brigade at Great Fosters have created a mouth watering selection of dishes. They offer menus that reflect the seasons using locally sourced produce where possible. Children, gluten free, nut free & other special diets and vegetarians are all catered for, and their sommelier is delighted to offer guidance and wine recommendations to complement your chosen menu and suit your budget.
5 . A Venue You’ll Want To Visit Over And Over Again
Because Great Fosters doesn’t only cater for weddings, it’s somewhere that you’ll want to return to time and time again after your wedding. Whether that be for family occasions, wedding anniversaries, or simply a weekend stay and a walk in the garden. Being a Great Fosters wedding photographer, I can guarantee that it’s a special place that will no doubt hold very special memories for every couple that marries there.
You’re guaranteed a warm welcome when the moment you step through the doors at Great Fosters. No matter whether you visit in the height of summer or on a frosty winter day, Great Fosters feels like home from home, and with a range of rooms to choose from and excellent location, it’s sure to pull you back again and again!
6 . The Option Of An Outdoor Wedding Ceremony
I’ve not yet had the pleasure of photographing an outdoor wedding ceremony at Great Fosters, but having done Great Fosters wedding photography for 15+ years of experience (Great Fosters being one of the very first Surrey wedding venues I ever photographed) I’d say it’s only a matter of time before a couple choose to hold their marriage ceremony with the grand architecture of Great Fosters as their backdrop.
Outdoor wedding ceremonies are becoming more and more popular in the UK, and with changes in the law around the wedding ceremony, almost inevitable now, I imagine that they will be common in the UK shortly. Your experienced Great Fosters wedding photographer will be familiar with shooting in direct sunlight, and will be able to create the most beautiful images, and if the British weather does take a turn for the worst, then there are of course indoor options at Great Fosters.
7 . An Amazing Venue All Year Round
Not only is Great Fosters able to accommodate outdoor weddings in the hight of summer, but this is amble indoor space for couples getting married throughout the year. Having been a Great Fosters wedding photographer since photographing here for the first time in 2007, I can say with experience that it’s also stunning in the middle of winter.
The warmth of the interior spaces, and the room where you can get ready in the morning, lend themselves to festive winter, or autumnal weddings, and the gardens are simply magnificent in spring. I have even photographed weddings at Great Fosters when the heavens have opened and we have been forced to find portrait locations indoor. This has not been a problem at all, given that there are so many options.
8 . Excellent Wedding Suppliers!
Whether it’s your perfect Great Fosters wedding photographer that you searching for, a florist to make your vision into a reality, or simply a DJ who will guarantee a good party, then Great Fosters has to covered! Over the years I’ve worked with great suppliers who stop at nothing to deliver a great service to each and every couple getting married at Great Fosters.
The access at Great Fosters means that your suppliers are able to get in quickly and set up without you even noticing! Whether that’s in the morning, while setting up the ceremony room, or later on in the evening when a quick turnaround of the room is needed for the party to get started. Great Fosters wedding photography, lighting for the venue, food, Photo Booth providers are all recommended.
