Lake Garda & Lake Como Wedding Photographer
Lake Garda & Lake Como Wedding Photographer
At the time of writing this, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the Italian lakes on six separate occasions, and as a Lake Garda & Lake Como Wedding Photographer, I can honestly say that the towns and villages dotted around the lakes are so magical. The range of wedding venues, from the majesty of Malcesine Castle to the more intimate venues such as the lemon groves in the castle at Torri del Benaco, are out of this world romantic!
Lake Garda & Lake Como, Two Beautiful Destination Wedding Venues
It may seem like an unobtainable dream, or even a little bit cliched to get married in such a beautiful location as either Lake Como or Lake Garda, but it needn’t be. Wedding venues that have all the glamour of a film set, may not be so out of reach as you think, and there are expert wedding planners on hand to help with every stage of the process.
6 Reasons To Get Married On Lake Garda
I could go on and on, but below I’ve highlighted just six of the reasons why I feel getting married in Italy makes so much sense, and why using a Lake Garda & Lake Como Wedding Photographer such as myself is so important in order to get the best out of the light, the landscape and the beautiful moments of your day.
1 . Breathtaking Fairytale Wedding Venues
I’m a strong believer that it’s your family and friends that you invite to your wedding, and the bond you have with them, that will make for an amazing day, but it also has to be said that as a Lake Garda & Lake Como Wedding Photographer , a great venue also helps! With any number of amazing venues to choose from, you really are spoilt for choice.
Whether you go for the grandeur of Malcesine Castle and partying the night away in the town of Malcesine or venues such as Villa Del Balbianello, Villa Pizzo, Villa Pliniana or Villa D’Este on Lake Como, your wedding will look like it belongs on the pages of Vogue, and as a Lake Garda & Lake Como Wedding Photographer who shoots in a documentary style, I’d love to tell the story of your day in pictures for you.
2 . Fabulous Italian Cuisine!
One of the perks of being a wedding photographer is, being able to sample some great food. Years ago I was fortunate enough to be awarded an arts scholarship to live and work in Italy for a year. It was then that I developed a taste for Italian food and I can say without doubt that the wedding food that restaurants such as Al Corsaro and La Voglia is superb!
During your stay in Italy you’ll also want to treat yourself to some memorable meals, and make sure that your family and friends are well looked after. during previous visits as a Lake Garda & Lake Como Wedding Photographer I’ve enjoyed excellent meals at Trattoria Vecchia Malcesine, a Michelin-starred restaurant with breathtaking views of Lake Garda, and Ristorante Al Gondoliere, serving traditional dishes of superb quality.
3 . Expert Wedding Planners
Whether you’re able to visit Lake Garda or Lake Como before your wedding, you’ll no doubt want to make the most of having an experienced wedding planner to make sure that when the big day comes, everything runs like clockwork. And if you’re looking for a Lake Garda & Lake Como Wedding Photographer based in the UK, making it easier to meet with you before, and work together after the wedding on a beautiful album then I’m here for you!
Planners such as Isabella at Beautiful Italian Weddings, and Gwen at Lake Garda Weddings have a wealth of knowledge and tips to help their couples, that they’ve built up over years of experience. However, if you’re feeling bold, then take a leaf out of Katie’s book and plan your wedding yourself (more of which you can see HERE). David and Katie were the first to book me as their for their wedding in Italy, and I will be forever grateful!
4 . Guaranteed Sunshine (Well Almost!)
We love to talk about the weather in the UK, and it’s often the number one reason for couples opting for a destination wedding. I’ve always been blessed as a Lake Garda & Lake Como Wedding Photographer with wonderful weather in Italy and there is always a pleasant breeze coming off the lake, meaning that you and your quests won’t feel uncomfortably hot, even in the middle of summer.
The Italian climate is amazing, but it has to be said, I’ve also seen the darker side! Like when late night rumbles of thunder and lightning could be seen and heard in the evening of Adam and Alaysa’s wedding, only to get closer and closer and catch us all out on the walk back to our respective hotels. It did make for some unforgettable pictures though!
5 . A Photographer On Your Side!
Yes, I’m talking about myself here! My experience of shooting weddings in Lake Garda over the last few years has given me the confidence to pass on my expertise to couples who may be feeling rather daunted and overwhelmed at the prospect of planning their wedding from a distance.
It’s going to be great, and the whole of Lake Garda and Il Castello Scaligero in the town of Malcesine on the banks of the lake are so relaxing that you will feel right at home, whether you’ve been planning your own wedding or using one of the wedding planners based on Lake Garda. I’m also very happy to meet my couples the day before their wedding for a walk around the town, and point out some of my favourite portrait locations.
6 . A Unique Experience For Family & Friends
This might surprise you coming from a wedding photographer, but your wedding is not all about beautiful photos, it’s about bringing two families together, and celebrating with them, but also giving thanks to everything they and your friends have given to you as a couple.
The town of Malcesine in the banks of Lake Garda is a beautiful little town with great restaurants and shopping. Lake Garda and Lake Como are the perfect destinations for friends and family to enjoy a short break before or after your wedding and make for a truly memorable experience. EasyJet fly regularly from Gatwick to Verona with many of the hotels offering a mini bus pickup from the airport taking around an hour.
