The Elvetham Wedding Photographer
The Elvetham Wedding Photographer
The Elvetham is a very grand wedding venue that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing at a number of times. In summer the vast lawns are a fantastic setting to socialise with your wedding guests and for the younger members of the wedding party to run and play games. In winter the interior is warm and inviting and very festive at Christmas time. The Elvetham wedding photographer.
The Elvetham, A Beautiful Wedding Venue In The Hampshire Countryside
The area of 35 acres surrounding The Elvetham is much the same today as it was recorded in the Domesday book. A formal garden was created in 1860 and a mile long avenue of Wellingtonias were planted. Amongst its many other trees and flowers is a famous Magnolia Soulangiana said to be the largest in England. After many years of neglect the gardens were restored in 1962 and now include a broad walk of Irish Yews
5 Reasons To Get Married At The Elvetham
If you’ve just begun the process of planning for your wedding then, first of all congratulations, but secondly, do please take a moment to read my five reasons to chose The Elvetham as your venue (and do of course take a peak at some of my favourite photos from this stunning Hampshire venue) Check out one of my very favourite weddings HERE.
1 . A Perfect Wedding Venue No Matter The Time Of Year
Searching for the perfect wedding venue can, I imagine, be quite a struggle. Particularly if your wedding is planned for the winter months. You’ll no doubt be bombarded online with summer weddings and beautiful warm sun drenched photos, but truths is a Christmassy wedding can be just as glamorous and The Elvetham is the perfect venue to choose.
The warm tones of the wood panelling in the rooms and the plush decor, make The Elvetham a fantastic chose if you’re getting married in winter. And in summer The Conservatory and The Elvetham is perfect to hold your wedding breakfast. As an experienced photographer, even the smallest amount of natural light can be used to great effect, and the lovely large windows at The Elvetham are perfect.

2 . Fantastic Catering
One of the perks of being a wedding photographer is, being able to sample some great food (most of the time!) At The Elvetham you’ll be guaranteed to eat well, and your guests will too! The kitchen turns out plate after plate of restaurant quality food, always with a smile on their faces. I really don’t know how they do it! And because you might be there over a weekend you’ll eat well for breakfast lunch and dinner!
An almost iconic spot at The Elvetham is to have your wedding cake placed in front of the grand staircase, it’s a wonderful spot to draw the eyes of your guests as they take their seats for the wedding breakfast, and a wonderful moment in the day when you come to cut your cake and get the evening party under way. Many brides also take this moment to throw their bouquet for the stairs and into the clutches of one lucky guest!

3 . Stunning Landscape Gardens For Your Portraits
Gone are the days of spending hours and hours on your wedding day posing for group photos, but at The Elvetham there are a number of locations perfectly designed for a set of carefully chosen group shots that you’ll cherish forever. And for the classic shot of all your guests there’s the option of a shot looking out across the lawn from a first floor window or in the evening as you gather to cut the cake in front of the grand staircase.
When it comes to your all important wedding portraits, a leisurely walk around the grounds of The Elvetham will provide ample opportunities for portraits that celebrate your marriage and encapsulate what a wonderful wedding venue The Elvetham truly is. Whether it’s the beautiful tree lined avenue, or any one of numerous views looking back towards the house you’ll be guaranteed a set of pictures that will take your breath away time and time again.

4 . Your Wedding Your Way
One of the most remarkable things about The Elvetham is the sheer choice of rooms that you’re able to use to make sure that you do your wedding the way you want it to be. One of the nicest and most practical things is that both you and your partner are able to get ready at the venue, and hold your ceremony in any number of the wonderful rooms, each with their own particular character.
Whether it be the Oak Room, The Morning Room, or even an outdoor ceremony with The Summerhouse as your backdrop, The Elvetham has you covered! And even if you’re arriving at The Elvetham after a church ceremony, the Library or Conservatory at The Elvetham will welcome your guests in and make the wedding reception a truly special event.

5 . Somewhere You’ll Want To Revisit Over and Over Again
Whether it be for an anniversary, birthday party or even a baby shower (no pressure!) The Elvetham welcomes many smaller events, that has couples coming back to their wedding venue time and time again as it becomes a place that is surely engrained in the family history of many Hampshire couples that have tied the knot here over the years.
The grand approach to the venue and warm reception that you’ll receive when you step inside, makes The Elvetham quite unique, and not at all like hotel that may lack the personal touch. Time seems to more more slowly at The Elvetham and as you take a walk around the grounds you’ll be reminded of all the wonderful memories that were made your wedding day.

Local Wedding Photographer
I’m an award winning wedding photographer based in Guildford, with over ten years experience of shooting weddings. I shoot in a mostly documentary style, which means a little time for portraits and group photos, and lots of time for natural, candid storytelling “moment-driven” photos of you and your loved ones together.
The Elvetham Wedding Photographer
The Elvetham, in North Hampshire, is a stunning, privately owned estate, set in 35 acres of beautiful gardens and grounds. Elvetham is mentioned in the Domesday book. The site on which The Elvetham now stands has a well documented history and in 1426 became the home of the Seymour family.
Award Winning Wedding Photographer
Documentary photography, and my approach to shooting weddings in a journalistic style, is something that I feel passionately about. It’s about storytelling, it’s about stepping back at times to allow things to unfold in front of the camera, and about stepping in on occasions to capture the action!
