Beaumont Estate Wedding Photography

Beaumont Estate wedding photography in the middle of winter comes with it’s challenges, like any winter wedding, but for this fab couple, the day was such a blast, and was full of festive joy right from the start! This was my first wedding photography at De Vere Beaumont Estate Windsor, but I’d visited and met with Rebecca and Stefan a few weeks before, to do a walk through, and even did a few test shots to identify a few good portrait locations.

In their own words: “The story of De Vere Beaumont Estate in Old Windsor is a very British one; a tale of democracy, royalty, education and religion. At its heart, sits an 18th-century mansion, a chapel, 45 event spaces and a Georgian white house in 42 acres of parkland grounds.” There are so many great wedding venues in Surrey, but as a winter wedding venue the ability to hold the whole day at the one location, with the couple both being able to get ready at the venue, is so valuable, and at Beaumont Estate, the venue is large enough that the day can transition from one space to another so seamlessly.

Photographing a beautiful winter wedding at Beaumont Estate

After a long summer of weddings, my rate of weddings begins to slow down a little, usually by September, but I always have a number of winter weddings to look forward to. Couples choosing to get married during the festive period do so because they love the time of year, and choose an appropriate venue. De Vere Beaumont Estate in Windsor, is one such venue. Arriving early on the day of the wedding for this Beaumont Estate wedding photography, the staff and the Christmassy atmosphere inside, was so welcoming, and as we were going to be there for the whole day, I was able to set up, and get all the establishing shots I needed.

Beaumont Estate Wedding Photography in the Morning

Both Rebecca and Stefan had chosen large groups of bridesmaids and groomsmen, which was great, as it lead to lots of activity and banter in the morning, and it was clear from the moment I arrived that it had been a particularly early start for everyone. Hair and makeup was in full swing when I arrived at the bridal suite, and everyone was settled in, with the remains of breakfast croissants, teas and coffees on show. I was just in time to capture a beautiful moment as Rebecca read her card from Stefan, before getting the signal to go get some shots of the guys getting dressed in their very stylish morning suites. 

The Marriage Ceremony

The ceremony took place in a modern and stylish room that had been dressed beautifully for the wedding ceremony, with floor standing candelabras and lanterns and a white runner down the length of the isle, all of which created a very sparkly a effect, and a nod to Christmas fairytales that we’re all familiar with. There was plenty of laughter throughout and the opportunity to capture some lovely moments, as both bride and groom relaxed into the occasion and any pre-wedding nerves disappeared. 

The Wedding Reception

I was grateful to the master of ceremonies for his help in organising the group photos, and after spending a little time outside, it was time to get the wedding reception part of my Beaumont Estate wedding photography underway. This took place in the wonderful chapel at De Vere Beamont and was a real surprise for the guests. By this time in the afternoon it was dark outside, but with some carefully chosen black and white shots and careful processing of my colour images, I was able to capture the warmth and energy of this elegant space in my photographs.
