Farnham Castle Wedding Photography: Katie and Will chose the magnificent surroundings of Farnham Castle for their May wedding. The town of Farnham holds a very special place in my heart. It’s at the art college in town that I studied Photography many moons ago, and it was lovely to be able to look out over Farnham from the castle grounds. Quite apart for the grandeur of the castle, one of the things I really enjoyed about the day was that Katie and Will were both getting ready in separate parts of the castle. For a reportage photographer like myself this is great because I’m able to capture different aspects of the day and give a sense of anticipation building up towards the ceremony. It also does wonders for everyones’ stress levels!

After getting some shots of the guys, I continued to photograph the bridal party as Nicky McKenzie put the finishing touches to Katie’s hair and she slipped into the dress, before making the short walk over to the chapel with her father. One of the other things that I really appreciated about the day, and which I first noticed during the ceremony, was the absence of mobile phone cameras among the guests. Sometimes described as an “unplugged” wedding, this meant that their friends and family were really engaged in what was happening, and rather than adding to the pressure on me, it actually made my job a lot more enjoyable!
If you’re planning to tie the knot at Farnham Castle, or any other Surrey wedding venue for that matter, then I’d love to hear from you. Contact me today to check my availability!
