London Black Tie Wedding
I love photographing weddings in the capital, and this London black tie wedding, at Pembroke Lodge was one of my favourites of last year. Pembroke Lodge is situated in the heart of Richmond Park, one of the incredible Royal Parks of London so popular with nature lovers and cyclists alike.
As a wedding venue, what attracts couples to Pembroke, where I’m delighted to be a recommended photographer, is that it’s rural setting boasts stunning panoramic views of London, while also feeling as though you’re out in the countryside. Driving though the park you and your guests will be able to spot dear roaming the park, while still having the convenience of London on your doorstep. Transport links, and getting ready at one of the local hotels is so convenient. Just a short walk or cab ride to Pembroke Lodge!
London Black Tie Wedding
Gemma & Sam’s black tie wedding was in June. The day for me began at The Petersham Hotel, just a stones throw from Richmond Park. I’d parked at Pembroke Lodge so that I’d be able to travel with Gemma and her dad in the London cab that they’d hired. Getting to the hotel early, also meant that I was able to pop out to capture some lovely shots of Sam and his friends as they enjoyed a few “nerve settling” drinks at the Roebuck (also just minute or two from the hotel on Richmond Hill). The sun was shining, and it was the perfect way to start the day and show both bride and groom before the ceremony.
I’m alway conscious of telling the fullest story I can on the wedding day, and with a bit of careful planning, I was able to get back to the Petersham in time to capture Gemma in her dress, and the first look! The rest of the day went without a hitch. The couple had a special moment to themselves during their black tie wedding, with the string quartet on the terrace, and a beautiful summers evening, in which guest were able to enjoy the outdoors, after some very funny and revealing speeches!
