Another winter wedding from me today! This time it’s Dawn and Patrick’s winter wedding at Ramster Hall. I can’t quite believe it’s been over a year since this Ramster Hall wedding photography, but looking back over the pictures for this blog post, I’m reminded of what an utterly fab couple Dawn and Patrick were, and what a great venue Ramster Hall is, particularly for winter weddings.

I’m due to return to Ramster Hall for a wedding this summer, and it will be great to have the opportunity to explore more of the gardens with the couple, but as a winter wedding venue Ramster works so well because of the beautiful wood paneling, the open fires, beams, painting, lighting, grand piano (I could go on, but I think you get the picture!) But of course a beautiful venue is only the backdrop to a wedding. It was so nice to be working with some of my favourite suppliers, and every element of the day had been so carefully considered. There was always something of interest for the guests, and something to move the story of the day forward photographically, something I’m always trying to do when I come to edit and present my pictures. Their band performed during the ceremony (there was even a sing along) and there were beautiful readings and messages read by both mums and members of the wedding party. All of this, no doubt suggested by Zena Birch their wedding celebrant, who conducts such beautiful ceremonies every time I work with her, and collaborates closely with each of her couples to deliver such personalised ceremonies. So happy were the couple that they literally danced their way out of the ceremony, and the rest of the day continued in much the same vein, with great speeches (I love it whenever the bride chooses to do a speech of her own) and lots of dancing. The photo of their first dance, which you can see below, is one of my favourites of all time in my portfolio!
“You’ve done a seriously amazing job. We love every picture…we feel very privileged to have these special photos for the future. They’re beautiful.”
