Froyle Park Wedding Photography

My Froyle Park wedding photography for this bride and groom in November last year was one that I’d been looking forward to for a long time! Not least of all because the celebrations had to be postponed due to the pandemic, but also because this was my first Froyle Park wedding. Having photographed weddings at many of the best wedding venues in Surrey and Hampshire in my career, Froyle Park was one that until now had alluded me. I’m so pleased to say that the day lived up to expectations 100% and there were so many photo opportunities that suited my documentary style of wedding photography.

Photographing a beautiful Nigerian wedding at Froyle Park

Having said this was my first Froyle Park wedding venue photo opportunity, I had in fact met the bride and groom a few months earlier for an engagement photo shoot in the grounds of Froyle Park during one of their wedding open days. Doing a pre-wedding portrait shoot is a great way to build a bit of confidence in front of the camera, and get to know your photographer. Although it might seem at odds with my documentary approach to covering the wedding day, you will see below that I do portraits on the wedding day and if you feel comfortable with your photographer then everyone wins because you’ll feel more relaxed on the wedding day.

The day began early for me and I was able to scope out some locations for later in the day, before beginning my Froyle Park wedding photos in earnest with bridal prep. I also had my good friend Paul at Tansley Photography covering the groom and his ushers getting ready in a different part of Froyle Park country estate. Having a second photographer is an option that’s available to all my couples getting married, and is a lovely way to add to the story of the day because they’re able to get some of the less obvious wedding moments.

The ceremony itself took place at the church next to Froyle Park. I was so grateful that we were able to discreetly capture so many beautiful moments during the wedding ceremony. The fact that there is this option for wedding photographer Froyle Park to have a church right on the doorstep is perhaps unique among Surrey and Hampshire wedding venues, and something that future couples will no doubt want to look into, as well as the options to have an outdoor ceremony at Froyle Park or use the Great Hall.

The wedding reception is perhaps my favourite part of the day to photograph, and this being a Nigerian wedding, I was well prepared for many of the traditions and what great photo opportunities these can provide. Although this Froyle wedding photography was a winter wedding, and therefore there was little time spent outside and we were conscious that it would be dark by around 4:30pm, we were able to capture some lovely portraits and group photos before the games, dancing and speeches began!
