Northbrook Park, A Beautiful Wedding Venue on the Hampshire Border

If ever there was a wedding venue with real “Wow Factor” it’s Northbrook Park! It’s all too easy to take it for granted as a photographer who’s shot there many times before, but all year round the impact of approaching the ceremony room and winding your way through the walled gardens to the Orangery is magical.

6 Reasons To Get Married At Northbrook Park

If you’re starting out on the journey that is, planning your wedding, then take a look through this page at the five reasons why I think Northbrook Park is such a fantastic wedding venue. And if you’re inspired by the pictures, and think that could be you, then do get in touch! I’d love to hear from you and discuss your Northbrook Park wedding photos.

1 . A Perfect Wedding Venue For The Whole Day

I love when a bride choose to get ready at the family home, and a love a good church ceremony, but I also really appreciate when the whole day is spent at the one venue (basically I just really love weddings!) and at Northbrook Park both bride and groom are able to get ready on site, hold their ceremony and reception, and party the night away without ever having to wait for staff to turn a room around.

From a photographic point of view, particularly my documentary approach, this is incredible. I’m able to flit between the bride and groom getting ready and capture all those little in-between moments without every having to worry about travel from one venue to another and boring details like parking, for myself, and for your guests too!

2 . Wonderful Natural Light

Modern cameras can cope with even the lowest light (believe me I’ve tried!) A ceremony or speeches by candle light is amazing, but what sets Northbrook Park wedding photos apart from almost any others is the beautiful natural light that fills both of the main rooms The Orangery and the Vive Room. What’s more, with a little camera trickery, even the most overcast day outside can look beautiful inside.

As photographers we obsess over light, almost as much as a bride on her wedding day, but the importance of light doesn’t just stop at being able to get a clear, well exposed shot. It changes people’s mood, it lifts the spirits and it makes the eyes and skin tones sing.

3 . A Stunning Backdrop For Portraits

I’m not exaggerating when I say that at almost every turn Northbrook Park presents another idilic location for a portrait of the newly married couple. I typically like to take the bride and groom off for about twenty minutes for a relaxed walk around the grounds, and you can see more examples of my portrait work HERE.

As a photographer who’s taken Northbrook Park wedding photos on many occasions, I know the venue like the back of my hand, I’ll be able to find the perfect spot, no matter what the time of year, and create some epic portraits that will sit on your mantlepiece or in an album for many years to come. You’ll no doubt want to spend your wedding with the ones you love, but I can also make the portrait session enjoyable and stress free!

4 . Adaptable Spaces

More than ever, couples want to put their own personal stamp on their wedding day and do things their way, and that includes using their venue in new and imaginative ways. The adaptable spaces of Northbrook Park allow for this. I’ve seen the ceremony room configured in different ways and I’ve seen all kinds of cultural celebrations taking place in the light and bright Vine Room.

I’ve even seen outdoor ceremonies taking place in the Walled Garden and couples dancing their way into the centre of the Orangery before taking their seats for the wedding breakfast. My photography responds to whatever I see infant of the camera so I love witnessing those unique ways in which couples choose to structure their day and keep me on my toes!

5 . Wow Factor!

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again Northbook Park really does have that “Wow Factor” that will captivate your wedding guests and create an amazing backdrop to your wedding day and the photos that follow. Northbrook Park is one of those wedding venues that raises the spirits, it puts everyone in a good mood and everyone seems the best version of themselves.

I’ve already written above about how much I love the natural light of Northbrook Park wedding photos, but as daytime turns to night Northbrook takes on a whole new character, and I’ve witnessed some beautiful sunsets over the Walled Garden in the evening. Your guests also have easy access to the Walled Garden from the Orangery, and one of my favourite things to do is to get a nighttime shot of the Orangery (it looks amazing with everyone dancing inside!)

6 . Multicultural Weddings At Northbrook Park

One of the things I love most about my job as a wedding photographer is the opportunity to observe and to photograph so many different cultural wedding traditions. My Northbrook Park wedding photos for Asha and Paul captured many beautiful moments and English and Indian traditions came together.

I am also aware that Northbrook Park can host weddings of other cultures. The Vine room or the Orangery can be used as the ceremony room, and I have even seen beautiful setups in the Walled Garden, for those couples that have their heart set on an outdoor wedding ceremony. However you choose to celebrate coming together as a married couple, the locations at this amazing venue are great for Northbrook Park wedding photography.

Un-posed Northbrook Park Wedding Photos

With a background in editorial photography and teaching, and with a degree in photography from one of the countries leading art colleges, I started shooting weddings as early as 2004. From my base in Guildford, The Northbrook Park wedding photos featured here are some of my all time favourites, but I travel throughout the country and the south east photographing weddings in a natural documentary style.

Northbrook Park Wedding Photos

Northbrook Park is a venue that I’ve revisited throughout my career as a wedding photographer. It continues to surprise and delight myself and the couples that choose this amazing wedding venue as the location for their wedding day, and it has no doubt formed a very picturesque backdrop to hundreds if not thousands of couples over the years.

Award Winning Documentary Wedding Photographer

The recognition I’ve received for my photography over the years has been overwhelming, but still to this day it’s the kind words that my couples feed back to me after the wedding that I’m most proud of. Just like Tanya and Tommy did after seeing their Northbrook Park wedding photos for the first time. I take a great deal of pride from knowing that I creating pictures that will be treasured for generations and form a part of peoples’ family history.

Very. I have shot multiple weddings at Northbrook Park, and I know the layout, grounds, and key photographic spots intimately, from the walled gardens to the manor house.

  3. Why is Northbrook Park a great venue for photography?
With its 120-acre estate, Grade-II listed manor house, manicured lawns, peacocks, and historic gardens, Northbrook Park offers endless opportunities for elegant and atmospheric wedding images.

  4. Which ceremony locations do you most often photograph at this venue?
The two main ceremony spots I love are the Vine Room, with its marble floor, chandeliers and large windows, and the Walled Gardens, which offer a beautiful outdoor setting.

  5. How do you shoot the Vine Room during a ceremony?
I use natural light from the tall French windows in the Vine Room, moving discreetly to capture emotion-filled glances, tears and laughter without disrupting the ceremony.

  6. Do you photograph weddings in the Orangery at Northbrook Park?
Yes — the Orangery is one of my favourite spaces. With its glass roof, brick walls and direct access to the walled gardens, it’s ideal for both large wedding breakfasts and evening celebrations.

  7. Where do you take portraits and couple shots around the grounds?
I often walk couples through the walled gardens, the lawns, and even near the peacocks, using the structure of the garden, the greenery, and natural light to create romantic, relaxed portraits.

For the drinks reception, I move through the gardens and terrace areas, capturing candid mingling, garden games, and the moments between people — all in a natural, unposed way.

  9. How do you deal with low light in the manor house?
I use professional low‑light gear and ambient lighting — such as the Vine Room’s chandeliers — so I can capture soft, warm images without overwhelming flash.

  10. Do you capture the architectural details of Northbrook Park?
Absolutely. I document the manor’s historic features, the vine-leaf engravings in the Vine Room, the exposed brick in the Orangery, and the formal hedging in the gardens.

  11. How do you photograph garden shots when peacocks are around?
Peacocks at Northbrook Park are a unique feature. I make sure to include them subtly — whether perched on a wall, walking in the gardens, or in the background — to give your photos a sense of place.

  12. Can you work well in the Nuns’ Garden area?
Yes — the Nuns’ Garden, with its terrace, water features and magnolia tree, is one of my go-to spots for atmospheric and reflective moments, especially for couples portraits.

I typically stay from pre-wedding preparations through to the evening party. This ensures I capture all the key moments — ceremony, reception, speeches and dancing.

For a full-day wedding, I usually deliver between 400 and 600 fully edited images, covering candid moments, posed portraits, and venue detail shots.

I rely on the venue’s existing light (like uplights in the Orangery or garden lighting) to photograph the evening naturally, preserving the atmosphere and energy without intrusive lighting.
