Rustic Barn Wedding Farnham
This beautiful rustic barn wedding Farnham, last year, was my second visit to the wonderful Bury Court Barn, which is without doubt one of the most characterful (and largest) wedding barns in the whole of Surrey. The rustic interior of the barn and Bury Court’s iconic oast house make it one of the most recognisable wedding venues in the area. With 14 double rooms and a bridal suite make this rustic barn the perfect overnight venue and great for getting photos of the couple getting ready before the ceremony. This amazing wedding barn has all the rustic charm that look so great in your photos, with all the modern amenities to make your stay comfortable.
Rustic Barn Wedding Farnham
I’m so fortunate to be a wedding photographer in this part of the country. Farnham alone, had some of my favourite venues including Bury Court Barn, Farnham Castle and Millbridge Court. Just a short drive from my home in Guildford means that I can arrive fresh to every wedding, ready for a long day of photography, capturing amazing moments happening throughout the day. And being able to do a pre-wedding visit with couples also pays dividends when the day finally arrives, and they feel totally at ease in front of my camera.
The Morning of the Wedding
One of the things I love about couples that choose to get married at venues like Bury Court Barn is that everything is able to take place onsite, from getting ready for the ceremony, to partying late into the night! My day began, as it often does, with getting some establishing shots of the venue, and the kind of detail shots that help add context to my documentary coverage of the day. It was also great to meet Amalee and Sergio’s videographer for the first time and know that we’d work really well together all day.
The Marriage Ceremony in the Barn
The couple had wanted to have an outdoor ceremony, but it was clear that the weather wasn’t quite on their side, and so the wedding ceremony took place inside the rustic barn. The spacious interior is so accommodating that the tables for the wedding breakfast were already set up too, which makes for a very quick turnaround later in the day. The ceremony itself was so much fun! Amalee and Sergio’s miniature dachshund made a brief appearance and there was a lot of love in the air.
After years of photographing weddings, it’s very easy to simply tick off a sequence of traditional shots during the ceremony, but I hope that what I’ve done here is capture actual moment in the ceremony that demonstrate that every ceremony, and every couple are unique.
The Wedding Reception and Party
After a bit of time spent outside enjoying the beautiful courtyard gardens at this rustic barn wedding Farnham, all too soon it was time to reveal the barn in all it’s glory for the wedding breakfast and reception. I’ve lost track of the number of wedding speeches I’ve heard, but I still find it fascinating to learn more about the couple, from the people that know them best. There are laugh out load moments, and there are of course sad moments of reflection, and I try to empathise at those moments, and capture them sympathetically.
As the evening approached Amalee and Sergio were keen to get some fun group photos of the bridal party with smoke bombs, and the evening light and the fields that surround Bury Court Barn were perfect for these colourful shots, before the party began. The dance floor was packed all evening with family and friends of all generations and the band ensured that everyone had an amazing time celebrating together at this memorable rustic barn wedding Farnham.
